Why East and West Maraland?


Throughout history of Mara people, Maraland and Mara people were never divided until British colonial regime enforced the Government of Burma Act 1935 in 1937. Therefore, we should not address ourselves as India-Mara or Burma-Mara people. We are Mara people divided by international boundary so that we should address Mara People from East Maraland or Mara people from West Maraland. There will be a day we will able to break artificial international boundary and rejoin all Mara people in Unified Maraland.
