A dissertation topic:

PRIMOGENITURE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT: TOWARDS A THEOLOGICAL-ETHICAL UNDERSTANDING OF PATRIARCHY IN ANCIENT ISRAEL

Abstract:

Ancient Israel was a patriarchal society. Primogeniture was one of its manifestations. However, there were surprising exceptions to the rule of primogeniture. The custom was often not followed. It was theologically and ethically qualified and politically and ideologically appropriated. These theological-ethical qualifications and political-ideological appropriation of primogeniture based on socioeconomic and religious-political changes of the ancient Israelite society indicate that patriarchy according to the Old Testament is not a static divine blueprint for all societies of all generations, but a dynamic socio-historical and theological-ethical process subject to change, modification, reinterpretation, and re-appropriation according to socio-economic and religious-political developments of a given society. In the name of patriarchy, women had been denied their rights, robbed of their dignity and worth, and regarded as a second class image of God in many societies then and now. Committed to correcting these wrongs, this research – arguing that patriarchy in the Old Testament is not so much a privilege as it is to a responsibility – challenges the contemporary hierarchical patriarchal ideologies, and contends for gender equality in all walks of life, remembering that we are all created equally in the image of God.

If he has done D.Th in correspondant it will not that much appreciable because
now aday Because now a day people are just getting many degrees for namesake, so
let us give very important to the course of D. Th in equivalent of its real
quality. Let us strive to get a degree with real quality while the Maras are
left behind backwardness to other neighbours tribes.

Dear Investigator:

MITCS published the news information as received. MITCS did
not conduct special investigation on particular news item and of course it
publishes ONLY when it confirms the overall credibility of the news
source.

Subsequentl y MITCS did not say or acknowledge that the degree was on
campus or off campus. However, we the MITCS Team is very much appreciative of
Vanoh Paw's achievement given the fact that he is being the first Mara to
receive Th.D degree regardless of your question.

We thank you for your
investigative and at the same time suggest you to read Rev. Dr. Lai U Fachhai's
thatih chyupa redirected to Maraland.Net.

Thank s,

Hi investigator, firstly you must understand how Th.D(D.Th) is obtained. Most of
the part are done in research apart from spending few weeks with the mentor. So,
if the candidate did his dissertation and could defend successfully, it may be
given to him on the graduation day even if he is absent personally. So,
correspondent thing does arise here. If you want to know clearly you could email
the recipient and ask him the detail. When it is announced publicly I guess it
is good to believe what is stated to be true.

You also wrote, "..while the
Maras are left behind backwardness to other neighbours tribes."

Maras are
not left behind in backwardness. That kind of idea stems out from negative
thinking. In proportion to their population Maras are well ahead of many other
tribes in the region. If you can't see this, it may not be late to learn about
Maras and compare them with the rests.
